A lot of “it suddenly stopped working” reports come down to an outdated app talking to an updated service. Updating takes a minute.
On iPhone / iPad (App Store)
- Open the App Store.
- Tap your profile picture in the top-right corner.
- Scroll down — pending updates are listed there.
- Tap Update next to the app, or Update All.
- Once done, reopen the app.
Tip: To update one specific app fast, search for it in the App Store — if the button says Update instead of Open, you’re behind.
On Android (Google Play)
- Open the Play Store.
- Tap your profile picture in the top-right corner.
- Tap Manage apps & device.
- If it says “Updates available”, tap Update all — or tap through to update just the one app.
- Reopen the app when the update finishes.
Turn on automatic updates (recommended)
- iPhone: Settings → Apps → App Store → App Updates (toggle on).
- Android: Play Store → profile picture → Settings → Network preferences → Auto-update apps → Over Wi-Fi.
